Residency for Creation and Experimentation at the House of Architecture Occitanie Méditerranée (MAOM) — CIPAC Announcement
A pair of an architect or urban planner and an artist is invited to design and deploy a lightweight mobile architectural module through public spaces in Montpellier South over one month, with outputs including urban activations, participatory workshops, and ephemeral public installations.

Get matched →A one-month architectural and artistic itinerant residency for a pair composed of an architect (or state-qualified architecture graduate) and/or urban planner and an artist (any discipline). The pair will design and deploy a lightweight mobile architectural module through Montpellier South to propose new forms of public occupation and reactivation through the lens of tactical urbanism.
Residents will have access to workspace at ENSAM and the Maquette Workshop (ATM) for module development. During itinerance in Montpellier South, a base will be provided at the Fabrique M28 in the neighborhood's heart. Logistical support, creation guidance, site visits, and mediation support are provided by MAOM and partners. Housing will be arranged in Montpellier South or nearby for candidates from outside Montpellier.
The residency supports the M28 Strong Moments – The Factory of Futures #Montpellier South, scheduled for September 25, 26, and 27, 2026.
This residency is carried out by MAOM in partnership with ENSAM and Mas Réemploi, with support from the association Montpellier 2028 – Lands of culture, the DRAC Occitanie, and the CROA Occitanie.
