Arts residencies provide dedicated time and space for creative work. Some welcome visual artists, while others support writers, filmmakers, choreographers, musicians and other creative individuals. 90% have public programs that engage the local community while others offer solitude and retreat. Did you know that the following artists have participated in artist residencies? Marcel Duchamp, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Robert Rauschenberg, John Lennon, Sylvia Plath, even Bob Dylan! Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs was created in an artist residency! We are a non-profit organisation with a small staff and tight financial resources and we need your support. With over 29 years of service, Res Artis continues to provide programs and services that have become essential resources for Creatives and residency spaces worldwide. Currently, Res Artis offers support for nearly 600 residencies in over 85 countries to start, grow and sustain their programs. With the residency field growing, Res Artis needs to grow, too!
