Get matched →Artist and Researcher in Residence programme in the Guiniguada valley of Gran Canaria, in the northern foothills. A long inhabited fertile area featuring separate studios, several terraces, shared kitchen and bathrooms. The house is the hosts' home, where they are present during the programme and support projects. Set in a natural warm-loving forest zone with ongoing agricultural activity, rural but well connected to Las Palmas and Santa Brígida via roads and public transport.
Minimum stay 4 weeks (whole period). The house is an 'organic' type, originally a series of caves expanded by previous owners. The residency area consists of five separate rooms that do not open from each other. A shared kitchen and various terraces are at your disposal, along with two shared bathrooms.
The residency welcomes guests with projects or deeper understanding in: Ecology & society (ecological art, food chain, carbon and nitrogen cycle, recuperation of ecosystems); Arts & society (visual language, contemporary art of light, hermetic traditions in modern art); Human rights & society (equality of opportunity, equal treatment, social exclusion/inclusion).
