Overview

Galerie Duchamp launches the second edition of Vies communes, a territorial residency program exploring relationships between contemporary creation, transmission, collective engagement, and shared living experience. Implanted in Yvetot in the heart of Pays de Caux, the program associates artists, schools, socio-medical facilities, and inhabitants around a common creative experience.

Residency Structure

Over several months, the artist conducts personal research while developing transmission and shared creation work with multiple participant groups, including schools, socio-medical structures, and Yvetot residents. The residency is a time of immersion, encounter, and experimentation where art becomes a dialogue tool.

Eligible Disciplines

All fields of contemporary creation are eligible: visual arts, photography, video, installation, performance, illustration, design, editorial practices, sonic works, hybrid or transdisciplinary practices.

Artist Profile

The residency seeks a professional artist engaged in affirmed contemporary practice, with interest in developing or continuing transmission, cooperation, or shared creation with diverse publics; capable of adapting proposals to varied audiences; autonomous in project conduct while appreciating collective work.

• Submission deadline: 23 August 2026 at midnight
• Selection committee: end of August 2026
• Preseleced candidates notified: before 15 September 2026 (via videoconference)
• Residency period: December 2026 to June 2027

Application Requirements

Submit a single PDF containing: CV, portfolio, artistic statement (2–4 pages maximum) presenting your artistic practice, interest in the residency, reflections on 'vies communes,' and your approach to transmission and working with publics, and any other relevant documents. Dossiers must be sent via email attachment only.

About the Venue

Galerie Duchamp is a municipal cultural facility combining a nationally significant contemporary art center, a school of visual arts, and numerous mediation and artistic education projects. Located in downtown Yvetot in a former mill, it hosts multiple exhibitions annually and is supported by DRAC Normandie, Région Normandie, Seine-Maritime Department, the City of Yvetot, and the Éducation nationale.
