New Opportunities Call for Entries, 2026 Virginia Watercolor Society Annual Juried Exhibition Deadline: May 22 Exhibition is open to members of the Virginia Watercolor Society only. Call to Artists, VisArts’ Gibbs Street Resident Artists 2026 -2027 — Rockville, MD Deadline: May 31 VisArts invites applications and proposals from local, national, and international artists for one of two six-month residencies at our studios in Rockville, Maryland. Studio space is provided free of charge. Artists receive a $3,000 stipend ($500 a month). Gibbs Street Artists in Residence present their work in culminating solo exhibitions. Click here for details. Call for Artists, Past and Present Performance Mural Open Call — Winchester Virginia Deadline: June 16 Friends of Old Town is seeking to install a two-part mural across two buildings near the Taylor Pavilion in downtown Winchester. We’re looking for a mural artist interested in creating a work with the theme, “Past and Present Performance” referencing the Taylor Pavillion’s history as a theater and its current use as a community performance space. McLean Project for the Arts Seeks Part-Time Ceramic Studio Manager Deadline: June 30 McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) seeks a part-time Ceramics Studio Manager (15–20 hours per week) to support and help shape MPA Clay, a new ceramics studio at the MPA Berlage Arts & Education Center. Basement is an exhibition that celebrates the hidden lives of the strangers we take for granted. Call for Art, Rich with Love – A Decade of Remembrance at Stamp Gallery at the University of Maryland — College Park, MD Deadline: May 25 In honor of the 10-year anniversary* of the murder of 1st Lt. Richard W. Collins III, the Bowie State University-University of Maryland Social Justice Alliance invites students, artists, faculty, staff, and community members to submit original artwork for a commemorative, community centered exhibition at the STAMP Gallery. Call for Proposals, Athenaeum Solo or Group Show 2025-2026 — Alexandria, VA Deadline: September 30 Artists who live or work in Virginia, Maryland, or the District of Columbia may submit a proposal for a solo show. A group of artists who live or work in the area may submit a proposal for a group show.
