About
Overview
The Creative Residency at Naples Botanical Garden will inspire the creation of environmental art and serve as an opportunity for artists to rest, reenergize, and engage with the community through Community Engagement Projects. Creative Residents are housed in the Garden's Guest House located within walking distance of the Garden's main visitor entrance.
Residency Details
- Length: 3 weeks
- Housing: Private bedroom in shared Guest House on campus, furnished with bed and bath linens, cookware, Wi-Fi, and laundry
- Studio: Guest House and adjacent pergola (no dedicated studio space; Artist supplies and musical instruments not provided)
- Meals: Access to shared kitchen; residents responsible for grocery shopping and meal preparation
Stipend & Support
- $3,000 artist stipend paid in two installments (one at residency completion, one at completion of final Community Engagement Project)
- $600 grocery stipend at start of residency
- Mileage reimbursement at IRS Business Use rate, up to 800 total miles
- Up to $1,000 supply cost reimbursement for Community Engagement Projects
Eligibility
- Emerging or professional artists working in environmental art or musical composition/performance
- Must permanently reside in Broward, Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, Lee, Miami Dade, Monroe, Palm Beach, or Sarasota Counties in Florida
- Must be 21 or older
- Must be available to stay onsite for the duration of the residency
- Must be available to lead at least two Community Engagement Projects
- Current Naples Botanical Garden staff, volunteers, and immediate family are not eligible
Community Engagement
Residents must participate in public programming and lead at least two Community Engagement Projects, which may include giving artist talks, presentations, or leading workshops for the public.

Payment Details
All invoices, receipts, and mileage reimbursement requests will be paid within sixty (60) days of receipt by mailed check. A completed ACH authorization form is required for direct deposit.
