The Boston Landmarks Commission (BLC) is Boston's preservation planning agency that performs historic preservation and cultural resource management functions. Established in 1975, the BLC works to protect the beauty and historic resources of Boston through identification, recognition, conservation, maintenance and enhancement of areas, sites, structures and fixtures that reflect distinctive features of Boston's political, economic, social, cultural or architectural history.
