A six-month residency at Acme's Fire Station in East London for visual arts professionals to develop their practice and professional networks, offered through partnership with Acme Studios, a London-based charity supporting non-commercial fine artists.

  • Applications close: Tuesday 15 September 2026 at 3:00pm (AEST)
  • Notification date: November 2026
  • Residency dates: 8 March - 27 August 2027
  • Note: You must be registered in the application management system a minimum of two business days prior to closing date
  • $30,000 grant
  • Only individuals may apply (not groups or organizations)
  • Must be an Australian citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
  • Must be a practicing artist or arts worker
  • Must be working on a visual arts project (excluding feature film, television or documentary)
  • Cannot have submitted another application to the same round of Acme residency
  • Cannot have an overdue grant report or owe money to Creative Australia

Industry advisors will assess applications on quality (artistic practice, vision, motivation), viability (feasibility and relevance), and impact (career development, professional networks and international engagement).

During the residency, Acme provides studio critique and mentoring with UK-based arts professionals, connections with artists through Acme's networks, opportunities for artist talks and collaborations, ongoing support from Acme staff, and invitations to private views, open studios, lectures, and events in London.
