Overview
Traces–Situated residencies 2026 invites artists and researchers to participate in artistic residencies exploring the notion of trace as a place of transition between presence and absence, and as a tool for reconfiguring the relationship between space and memory. These residencies are framed within the concepts of body, territory, and spatiality. Participants are invited to think of the footprint as a material record and ephemeral gesture capable of expanding ways of inhabiting and signifying the territory.
Residency Duration
- Minimum: 1 month
- Maximum: 6 months
- Minimum recommended: 2 months
Who Can Apply
Artists from all disciplines are welcome, as well as researchers whose work engages with artistic practice as an object of study or as part of their methodology. Special encouragement for LGBTIQ+ and BIPOC individuals, and particularly from communities affected by war, exile, and structural exclusion.

Fees
- Participation fee: €1,000 (includes accommodation in private room in shared house)
- Private apartment option: additional €300
- Collective residency: additional €150 per month per participant (if all work on same project and share studio and accommodation)
- Travel and living expenses are resident's responsibility
Expectations
Artists in residence are warmly invited to take part in activities and enrich their stay through active participation. Each month, an Open Studio is hosted where residents are encouraged to share their work, whether finished pieces or works in progress.

Blanca, Spain. Studios offer a variety of inspiring spaces suited to different artistic practices. Residents are encouraged to extend their research beyond the studio walls, exploring the breathtaking landscapes and unique natural surroundings as part of their creative process.
- Entry fee
- Participation fee of €1,000 includes accommodation (private room in shared house), workspace, exhibition space, welcome coffee, technical equipment use, mentoring, curatorial guidance, documentation, and visibility. Private apartment available for additional €300. Collective residency adds €150/month per additional participant. Travel and living expenses are resident's responsibility.
