About
Overview
Artwork commission for William M. Davies Jr. Career and Technical High School's Phase 1 renovations through Rhode Island's Public Art Law, which mandates 1% of state capital construction funds for public art. The project seeks a placemaking or statement piece for the front entrance plaza, the main interface for visitors and students and site of heavy traffic with approximately 1/3 of students being dropped off or picked up.
Commission Details
$225,000 all-inclusive budget for a public art installation at the front entrance plaza. The selection panel determined this location presents an excellent opportunity to create a focal point and sense of place. Construction is underway with substantial completion expected by December 2027.
