SAHA Curator in Residence — New Museum

Position Overview

The SAHA Curator in Residence is a two-year, full-time curatorial position at the associate level with the New Museum's Curatorial Department. The successful candidate will contribute to planning, research, production, and realization of exhibitions and related programs, with a focus on contemporary art from Türkiye.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support museum exhibitions, including artwork production, loans, installation, and collaboration with artists and institutions
• Conduct curatorial research and develop exhibition proposals
• Coordinate artist residencies and assist with exhibition planning and selection
• Manage research and materials for publications and exhibition catalogues
• Write interpretive and promotional content
• Organize small- to medium-scale exhibitions under guidance of Director or other curators
• Assist with administrative matters, fundraising, and public programming

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary: $85,066.27
• Fellowship stipend: $23,000

Eligibility Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Art History or Curatorial Studies; MA preferred
• 3–5+ years experience executing international museum-quality exhibitions, performances, and publications
• Extensive experience working with artists, galleries, fabricators, and cultural institutions
• Strong knowledge of contemporary and modern art, curatorial practices, and exhibition histories
• Excellent written, editorial, and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and project-management abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp preferred
• Essential expertise in contemporary Turkish art and culture
• Fluency in both Turkish and English
• Eligibility to work in the United States
