Overview
The Bronx Cultural Visions Fund (BCVF), supported by the Howard Gilman Foundation, seeks to support the development of new ideas and production of new work in performing arts, including dance, music, theater, performance art, and multi-disciplinary performance work. Awards are intended to have a meaningful impact on an artist's career or organization's development.
Eligibility
Open to Bronx-based emerging and mid-career individual artists and organizations with budgets up to $250,000.
Awards
- Up to $10,000 for Concept Development
- Up to $20,000 for Production
- At least 5 awards in each category

Application Process
The BCVF application process consists of two stages. First, submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) in written or video format through Submittable. If invited, submit a full proposal to be reviewed by a panel of 3–5 performing arts professionals living in NYC.
Evaluation Criteria
- Is the project stewarding cultural heritage, innovating, sharing a new perspective, or probing/pushing boundaries?
- Is there a compelling vision or original voice?
- Is technical expertise and/or proficiency evident in the work samples?
- Are the outcomes achievable and plans realistic?
- Does the project represent a new direction or growth for the applicant?
