The Gallery at Mercer County Community College is seeking artists for a bi-annual residency program that fosters artistic exploration and collaboration. Four residencies will be awarded, each lasting three weeks in the 2027 Spring Semester. Two residencies are designated for Mercer County artists, and two for artists residing outside the county.

Residents will be assigned one of two gallery side spaces to create an exhibition or performance-based project, showcased concurrently with another resident artist. During the residency, artists are required to collaborate with MCCC students and staff on their project and conduct workshops in the main gallery space. Upon successful completion, artists will receive a $350 stipend.

  • Submission deadline: October 31, 2026
  • Term A residency: January 25 - February 12, 2027
  • Term B residency: February 22 - March 12, 2027

The Gallery encourages interested artists of all backgrounds and experience to submit an application. Four residencies awarded: two for Mercer County artists, two for artists residing outside the county.

The Gallery welcomes proposals in all media, including painting, sculpture, installation, performance, photography and video. Proposals must be specific to the gallery space and clearly outline student engagement through collaboration and workshops.

  • Portfolio: 5-10 images of recent work
  • Artist resume with current address
  • Artist statement
  • Project proposal specific to gallery space (dimensions and photos available online)
  • Application fee: $35

Gallery side spaces are designed for exhibitions, not studios. Artists are responsible for transporting artwork and materials to and from the gallery. The gallery does not cover shipping costs. Artists must return the gallery space to its original condition.
