She works with photography, video, installation and performance. Through material and sculptural experimentation, Nguyen approaches the photographic moment as one of transformation. She is particularly interested in exceeding photography as a mode of documentation, and engages with it rather as a set of conditions shaped by desire and speculation. Her moving image works examine the histories of power, victimhood and forms of propaganda that underpin cultural and self-image making. Recent solo and group exhibitions include Performa Biennial 2025, Museum of Modern Art Warsaw, Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin, the Whitney Museum of American Art, SculptureCenter, The Renaissance Society, Rockbund Art Museum, MoMA PS1, the Carnegie Museum of Art, Schinkel Pavilion, Jeu de Paume, and the Hammer Museum, among others. Her films have been presented at international film festivals, including the New York Film Festival, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, as well as Berlinale and Woche der Kritik. She was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2023. Phil Collins Joyce Joumaa Joyce Joumaa is a video artist and writer working between Beirut, Montreal, and Amsterdam. After growing up in Lebanon, she pursued a BFA in Film Studies at Concordia University. Her work explores microhistories in Lebanon and elsewhere to understand how past structures shape contemporary realities. Central to her practice is an interest in the political charge inscribed in space and the social psychology that unfolds from the tensions emerging between the two. Joumaa’s work has been presented at institutions including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, e-flux Screening Room, the Sharjah Architecture Triennial & the 60th Venice Biennale. Recent solo exhibitions have been held at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Plein Sud Centre d’exposition, and
