Exhibition Overview
Par Nair presents paintings and embroidered artworks inspired by the garden outside her family home in Kerala, India. The exhibition explores themes of domestic space, gender roles, feminized labour, and diasporic memory through oil paintings, hand embroidery, and installation. Works include poetic love letters embroidered on traditional garments called mundus and an installation of 200 embroidered mango leaves in shades of green and brown.
Artist
Par Nair is an Indian-born artist and educator who lives and makes in the GTA. She earned her Master's in Interdisciplinary Arts from OCAD University and currently holds the position of Sessional Faculty at OCAD University, where she teaches painting and art theory.

Opening Event
A celebration of the opening will feature remarks beginning at 1:30pm with a musical performance by Hasheel followed by an artist talk with Par, who will reflect on her time in the RBC residency program and share insights on her work.
