2027 Juried Biennial Exhibition

Overview

The Juried Biennial at Olin Hall Galleries has been exhibited every two years since 1990. All fine arts media are accepted for submission, including painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic design, photography, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, textiles, video, and film.

Key Dates

• August 3, 2026: Applications open
• October 30, 2026: Deadline for entries
• November 20, 2026: Accepted artists notified by ArtCall
• January 6–9, 2027: Artists deliver artwork, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
• January 22: Reception 6:00–8:00 p.m.; Juror Awards announced at 7:00 p.m.
• March 14, 2027: Show closes at 4:00 p.m.
• March 15–17: Artists pick up artwork, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Eligibility

Artists within a 200-mile radius of Roanoke College can submit up to three works of art in any medium. All artwork must be original and completed within the last three years.

Media & Conditions

All fine arts media are accepted including but not limited to painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic design, photography, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, textiles, video, and film. All 2D works must be prepared for installation with proper hanging mechanisms. Sculpture must be portable and weigh less than 150 lbs.

• First Place: $1,000.00
• Second Place: $800.00
• Third Place: $600.00
• Community Choice: $400.00

Fees & Sales

There are no submission fees for the 2027 Juried Biennial. Olin Hall Galleries is a non-profit organization and no commission will apply for works sold from this exhibition.

Submission & Delivery

All accepted work must be hand delivered to Olin Hall Galleries, 240 High Street, Salem VA 24153. Artwork drop-off dates and times are Wednesday, January 6 to Saturday, January 9 between 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
