Overview
Monson Arts is an artists' residency and arts center in Monson, Maine, at the edge of the North Woods near the Appalachian Trail. Residencies are 2 or 4 weeks long and provide studio space, private bedroom in shared housing, all meals, and a stipend. Artists' studios accommodate various practices with access to wood and metal shop facilities. Writers' studios are furnished with work tables and reading chairs.

Eligibility
Open to artists and writers at all stages of career, working in all media including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, new media, installation, fiction and nonfiction writing, poetry, and audio production. Open to artists based anywhere in the world.

Residency details

- Average of 10 artists in residence at a time
- 5 visual and 5 literary artists accepted per session
Stipend and fees
- Artist stipend: $500 for 4-week program; $250 for 2-week program
- Application fee: $25
- No residency fees or travel stipends
