A Fond Farewell to Anastasia and Brad

With fondness and gratitude, we bid farewell to two long-time colleagues: Anastasia Freyermuth and Brad DeBiase. Both are leaving the Arts Commission to pursue their career goals in new jobs.

Anastasia Freyermuth
Having previously interned with the Arts Commission, Anastasia was hired as the agency’s Arts Learning Coordinator in 2015. Over the years, Anastasia developed a strong interest in and aptitude for program evaluation. In 2023, she was promoted to Director of Evaluation and Learning.

Anastasia has accepted a new position as Senior Grants Officer for the Division of Public Service at Rio Salado College, which houses metro-Phoenix’s local NPR affiliate KJZZ.

Brad DeBiase
Since joining the Arts Commission in 2016, Brad has been a true utility player, moving from program support and administration to serving as Senior Grants Manager. Throughout his tenure, he consistently championed underrepresented areas, leading key initiatives like the national AEP6 survey and the 2026 Empowering Rural webinar series to strengthen Arizona’s rural and remote communities.

Brad has accepted the position of Development Manager at Read Better Be Better, a literacy organization serving K-12 students with reading comprehension programming.

Looking ahead, the Arts Commission will update and recruit for these two roles in operations and grants. We look forward to launching an open public hiring process later this fall and will share application information as it becomes available.

We thank Anastasia and Brad for their years of dedication, public service, and thought leadership, and wish them the best in their future endeavors.
