The 57th Street Art Fair is a two-day outdoor celebration of visual arts held the first full weekend of June in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago. Considered the oldest juried art fair in the Midwest, it provides a venue for creators of quality fine art and fine craft to meet with the art-buying public.

  • Submission deadline: January 15, 2027
  • Intent to exhibit and booth fee due: April 15, 2027
  • Exhibition: June 5–6, 2027

Open to creators of original fine art and fine craft. All artwork must be original and produced entirely by the hands of the exhibiting artist. No work generated partially or in entirety by Artificial Intelligence is permitted. Returning artists in glass, jewelry, and leather categories will be re-screened for 2027.

Artists may apply in up to two categories but only once within the same category. Each category requires a separate application and separate images with a booth shot. Accepted media include: ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, mixed media, painting, paper, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and wood objects/hand-crafted furniture.

  • No more than two artists may collaborate on work
  • Both artists must be included on and sign the application
  • Both must be present at check-in and throughout the Art Fair
  • Collaborative work must have the signature or mark of both collaborators
  • A description of each member's involvement must be in the Artist's Statement
  • Submit 4 digital images per category: three of individual pieces and one of a display showing overall continuity and presentation
  • Images must be 1920 pixels horizontal × 1920 pixels vertical
  • Images must accurately represent the body of work to be exhibited
  • Application fee: $45 (non-refundable) via credit card or PayPal through Zapplication
  • Booth fee: $450 (due by April 15, 2027 to confirm participation)
  • Booth fees refundable in full until April 30, 2027; no refunds after this date

Artists selected to participate must notify the fair of intent to exhibit and submit the booth fee by April 15, 2027. Participation is not confirmed until the booth fee has been paid. If accepted in two categories, artists must purchase two booths, which may be located next to each other.
