Overview

The Luxembourg Art Prize is an international annual art prize organized by the Pinacothèque museum in Luxembourg. The goal is to discover and promote talented artists, provide worthy participants with a museum reference, and award winners with substantial financial support. Artists may present graphic or decorative artworks using various techniques including drawing, printing, installation, painting, photography, sculpture, mixed techniques, and decorative arts.

• Group 1 closes March 31; Group 2 closes June 30; Group 3 closes September 30

Eligibility

Open to any living amateur or professional artist, without limitation based on age, nationality, or place of residence.

Media & submission

No specific theme required. Artists are free to present any graphic or decorative artworks. Works may use one or more of the following techniques: drawing, printing, installation, painting, photography, sculpture, mixed techniques, or decorative arts (textiles and materials, glass, wood, metal, ceramics, mosaics, paper or other techniques). No specific size, dimension, volume, or weight restrictions apply.

Application process

Submit an application form online via the website www.luxembourgartprize.com. Open one account per artist. Applicants may register with one or more groups depending on the current date. Applications must be completed online only; no materials should be sent by postal mail.

Registration groups & fees

• Group 1: closes March 31
• Group 2: closes June 30
• Group 3: closes September 30
• Registration fee required; amount varies by currency, country of residency, and exchange rate
• Fee must be paid for each group if registering with multiple groups
• Discounts applied automatically for multiple group registrations in the same year

Awards

First place receives €20,000, second place receives €10,000, and third place receives €5,000. Eight finalists from each group (24 total) are named in October. All participants noted by the Museum selection committee receive an official certificate of artistic merit.

Withdrawal policy

Candidates may withdraw their application until results revealing finalists are announced (before November 1) and within a maximum of 90 days following payment. After November 1 or after the 90-day period, the application is considered final and non-refundable.
