'Atmospheric Waves' is a festival dedicated to embracing wind through sound art, public engagement, and sensorial cultures of listening. The festival seeks original artworks for a public-space exhibition that engage with the wind, climate, and environment of Liepāja and invite audiences to experience them through listening and sensory engagement.

5 selected installations and/or interactive (digital) artworks that clearly address the core themes of 'Atmospheric Waves.' Projects should engage with wind, climate, and environment through aeolian effects, sonification, or other means that encourage listening as a way of learning and knowing about local climate.

  • Location: Former KURSA factory grounds, Liepāja
  • Dates: May to November 2027
  • Production budget up to €3,500 per project (including technical set-up and transportation costs)
  • Artist fee of €1,500 per project
  • Production residency with accommodation from April 5–May 12, 2027
  • Application deadline: 4 September 2026
