Submissions are read on a rolling basis throughout the year and considered for our quarterly issues. Every piece in PJAS is chosen through editorial review, and publication carries that endorsement. It is a juried, citable credit that contributors can list on CVs and portfolios, and in applications for exhibitions, residencies, graduate programs, and grants. Selected work appears both online and in print. Contributors gain a permanent public record of their work and a physical edition that circulates beyond the screen. Each piece is placed within the journal's curated editorial framework, alongside writers, artists, and thinkers from other fields, so it reaches readers who might never meet it within a single discipline. Publication begins a contributor's relationship with PJAS. Published artists and writers join the PJAS Artist & Author Directory , a lasting, searchable home for their work and links. Selected contributors may also be invited into editorial features, interviews, and broader PJAS releases. These extend the reach of their work and give readers insight into the practice behind it.
