Overview

The Bernd Rode Award is granted by the ASEAN-European Academic University Network (ASEA-UNINET) to outstanding joint scientific and higher education collaborations between its Austrian and South-East Asian or Pakistani member universities. Named after Bernd Michael Rode, an eminent Austrian researcher and founder of ASEA-UNINET, the Award makes extraordinary research achievements or contributions within the framework of ASEA-UNINET visible.

Award Categories

  • Junior Researcher: no doctoral degree required – up to 2 awardees
  • Senior Researcher: applicants within 10 years after completion of PhD studies (in the arts/music field equivalent permitted) – up to 1 awardee

Eligibility

Eligible for application are outstanding achievements or contributions in science, art, or music arising from ASEA-UNINET collaborations (e.g., joint research/art/music project, research/teaching stay, scholarship, etc.), regardless of when they were carried out. The prospective awardee must be affiliated to an ASEA-UNINET member university.

Application Requirements

Nomination by an academic member (at least Postdoc level) of an ASEA-UNINET member university (the nominator); self-nomination is not allowed. The nomination must be supported by a second person (the endorser), who does not necessarily have to come from an ASEA-UNINET member university.
