Nordic Currents 2027–2028

Overview

Nordic Currents is an international culture initiative inviting cultural organisations in neighbouring European countries to join forces with Nordic partners and create projects that move audiences, deepen relationships and create lasting connections.

Project Types

• Public cultural events (festivals, programmes, series, or other curated formats, standalone or connected to existing structures)
• Sector development initiatives (must include network-building, knowledge sharing and other forms of sector development)

Eligibility

• Established organisations from Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, or United Kingdom
• Minimum of two partners from different Nordic countries, active throughout the project
• Co-financing from local, national or other funding sources required
• Programming must include representation from all Nordic countries (Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland/Kalallit Nunaat, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Åland)

Project Scope

• Activities must primarily take place in the applying organisation's home country, or in respective countries of multiple European partners
• Projects must take place between 1 June 2027 and 1 June 2028
• Emphasis on regions/countries with local interest in Nordic art and culture and potential for long-term collaborations

Grant

• Funding range: 100,000 EUR to 800,000 EUR
• Total pool: 800,000 EUR
• Between one and eight proposals will be successful
