The Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion of Berlin offers project grants for 2027 to support individual and group projects by Berlin-based visual artists, artist collectives, curators, project spaces, initiatives, municipal galleries, art associations, and publishers. Funding aims to expand the representation of contemporary visual art practice in Berlin.

  • Exhibition projects including catalog and accompanying events (performances, symposia, panel discussions, catalog presentations, video programs, exhibition tours)
  • Production and premiere of artistic videos
  • Analog and digital publications (including e-books in EPUB format) representing the artistic practice of applicants

All applicants, curators, and visual artists must have their primary residence in Berlin. For artist collectives, the majority of members must reside in Berlin. Participants may not be enrolled at any university.
