Overview

Studio Faire is an artist-run contemporary art space in South West France providing residencies for visual artists, musicians, writers and all other types of creative practitioner. Residents live and work in a historic 1831 Maison de maître in Nérac, a market town in the Lot-et-Garonne region. Up to four other residents may be present during the same period.

Location & Facilities

• Centre of Nérac, 10 minutes' walk to shops, cafes, bars, farmer's market, library, theatre, music hall, cinema, supermarkets, old town, Château, and riverside walk
• Private double bedroom on first floor above studio
• Two shared bathrooms, shared kitchen, dining room, and ample outdoor space
• Studio: 'The Garage Studio' with sole use, large north-facing glazed door, blank wall, and sink
• Equipment available: sink, trestle tables, easels, cutting mat, iron, sewing machine, and various other items

Eligibility & Expectations

Open to professional visual artists and makers. This is a self-funded, self-directed residency. The only expectation is that the artist work on their project during the majority of the residency. The space aims to support creativity, experimentation, and development of new ideas without pressure to produce.

Fee

• 2-week residency (October 15–28): 990€ (last-minute discounted rate)
• Includes: private bedroom, sole use of 'The Garage Studio', shared shower rooms, toilets, kitchen, dining room, and gardens
