About
Overview
LIMEN is a small, independently run residency based at Casa M, a restored manor house in the medieval village of Siddi, Sardinia. Co-founded by Linda Paganelli and Adriano Lostia in partnership with Berlin Film Community, LIMEN brings together backgrounds in visual anthropology, decolonial and queer-feminist filmmaking, documentary, and grassroots organizing. This is its inaugural edition, launching October 2026, with a long-term intention to continue as an annual program.
Who Should Apply
You are a conceptual artist, mixed media artist, land artist, visual artist, filmmaker, photographer, researcher, designer, illustrator, composer, community maker, or writer who needs time and space to develop a body of work. You're drawn to questions of memory—personal, collective, or both—and want space to work with them. A political and queer reading of your material feels urgent, whether it's already central to your practice or something you're just starting to explore. You want to work near other artists without losing your own solitude. You're curious about land, place, and what a specific territory can teach you. Prior experience with anthropological or ethnographic methods is not required; curiosity and willingness to let two weeks change your work is essential.
