About
Overview
In partnership with the Dominican Republic Embassy in France and Banco de Reservas, the Cité internationale des arts offers research residencies to Dominican visual artists to encourage mobility and professional development. Two three-month residencies are available in 2027.

Eligibility
- Dominican national and resident of Dominican Republic for at least two years at time of application
- Visual artist: painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, digital art, performance, or transdisciplinary practice
- Fluent in English or French for professional contexts
- Minimum three years of professional artistic experience
- Never previously participated in a Cité internationale des arts residency
- No age limit; no collective applications
Selection criteria
A multidisciplinary jury will assess professional trajectory, artistic quality and originality, relevance of a Paris residency to the applicant's project, working methodology, and existing or potential connections to the Paris art scene. The jury aims for balanced selection reflecting diverse practices and perspectives.

- Artistic portfolio: approximately 10 images of past works with complete captions (PDF, max. 10 pages, 10 MB), with video and/or audio links if applicable (.mp3, .avi)
- Letter of intent (PDF, max. 3 pages) describing: key elements of artistic trajectory; project to develop during residency with processes or research themes; reasons why a Paris residency is necessary (content, contacts, institutions); motivation for the Cité's community of 300 artists
Residency terms
Residents must be available for the full residency period and fully engage with the program. At the end, each resident must submit a report (visual and textual) describing activities completed and creative process developed. Studio-residences do not currently meet accessibility standards for people with disabilities; contact the Cité for specific access inquiries.
