Overview
The Arts Education Grant supports arts education projects that bring teaching artists into dedicated learning spaces for students of all ages. Funds support projects designed for closed groups of learners in partnership with public schools or existing community groups such as student clubs, senior living communities, or social service programs.
Eligibility
Individual artists, collectives, unincorporated groups, tribal organizations, and 501(c)(3) nonprofits with a current address in Nassau or Suffolk County are eligible to apply. Applicants must be 18 years old and current New York State residents residing in the county where the project will take place. Artists, collectives, and unincorporated groups must partner with a nonprofit organization.

Project Requirements
All Arts Education projects must provide sequential, skills-based study incorporating one or more art forms with a minimum of 3 sequential hands-on learning sessions. Projects should emphasize in-depth, age-appropriate learning opportunities, hands-on participatory creation that may culminate in exhibitions or demonstrations, stated learning goals and methodologies, means for evaluation, and support materials including lesson outlines and participant evaluation forms.
Required Documentation
A signed letter of commitment from the school or organization partner detailing partner support and roles and responsibilities must be included with the application. Proof of residency in Nassau or Suffolk County is required. All applicants must attend a mandatory Information Session before applying.
