Get help here: Cultural Funding Consultation Program description Since 2021, L’AiR Arts Association has been leading a cultural heritage project to transition a historic artist studio in Paris into an International Arts Research Residency dedicated to intercultural exchange. The L’AiR Arts residency at Atelier 11 facilitates self-directed individual projects that run parallel to curated group programs, residencies for local professionals, partner programs and events open to a broader community. The program is designed to provide artists and cultural professionals with the opportunity to carry out their artistic projects in Paris, develop research, workshop new ideas, and expand their international network. Residents may make use of the multifunctional facilities of Atelier 11 for living, work, meetings, presentations, exhibitions and informal gatherings. Depending on each project. The residency program offers several fee structures, available depending on funding support and program availability: Funded residency (that may also include travel and/or research and production stipend) Subsidized residency cost: 625 euro per week Full cost residency: 1250 euro per week - for applicants who are able to raise their own funds or have already secured funding elsewhere to help cover the costs associated with the residency. Institution L'AiR Arts L’AiR Arts is a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to support intercultural exchange through international arts residency programs. In collaboration with leading arts institutions and professionals, the residency programs support intercultural exchange, research, professional development and contemporary creation – while promoting diversity, inclusion and international understanding through artistic and cultural heritage. Deadline Two deadlines per year: April 30 and October 31. Funding period The residency at Atelier 11 can range from 2 weeks to 2 months. The duration and exact dates are flexible and can be coordinated on a case-by-case basis, depending on the project and availability. Funding types (non-commercial) Residency Funding criteria The residency fosters cross-cultural exchanges and collaborations between the local art ecosystem, including with Paris-based artists, scholars, curators, art critics, institutions, and galleries, as well as international artists and cultural professionals. Candidates from every country are welcomed, however an intermediate level of English is required to effectively interact with others. To attend the program, candidates must be sufficiently independent to manage their residency. Please note: this residency is available for invited candidates only (solo or duo) and cannot accommodate additional guests or family members. Additional conditions L'AiR Arts can provide residents with the following resources: Private furnished living studio on-site with en-suite bathroom Communal work space and exhibition area (~40m2 / 430 sq feet) Meeting space with a fully equipped kitchen Multimedia arts presentation space (~30m2 / 320 sq feet) with projector and speakers Research library on modern and contemporary art Programming and event support (open studio, exhibition, talk, etc.) Networking and research support (relevant visits and meetings) Communications support (website, e-news, social media) One-year membership and invitation to participate in residency projects and exhibitions Application type Online form Application procedure/documents Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with two main review periods: after April 30 and after October 31.
