Klapprich Park Mural - Wayzata, MN

Overview

The City of Wayzata is seeking qualifications and concept proposals from artists for the design and installation of one permanent mural at the Klapprich Park Warming House, located at 340 Park Street East, Wayzata, Minnesota 55391. The mural will be installed directly on the interior wall of the facility. The total project budget is $10,000 and covers all costs including design, materials, fabrication, installation, and related expenses.

Eligibility

This project is open to artists who are at least 18 years of age and legally able to compete with the City of Wayzata. Applicants under 18 must provide parent/guardian contact information. A meaningful or local connection to Wayzata will be considered as one eligibility factor. Artists must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with the City of Wayzata to further develop their initial proposal.

Application requirements

• Professional resume or CV
• Artist bio (can be brief)
• Up to 5 digital images of previously completed work indicating experience with painted murals
• 1-to-2 page narrative describing the proposed mural design and how work samples relate to the proposal in terms of style, motifs, etc.
• Applicants under 18 must include parent/guardian contact information (name, address, email, phone)

Selection process

Applications will be reviewed by the City of Wayzata and the Selection Committee. One artist or artist team will be selected. The Selection Committee may identify a shortlist of finalists who will be invited to submit a proposed sketch or design for further evaluation.
