Selection
A selection committee chaired by the Academy Director reviews all applications, deliberates, and decides on successful candidates and duration of residency. Successful applicants notified by e-mail within three months of the application closing date.
Residency terms
The Academy Director sets actual residency dates. Selected candidates who refuse the offered dates forfeit the residency. Residents must be present at Villa Medici during their stay and enter into a residency contract with the Academy.
Support
Each resident receives a monthly grant of €1,500 gross (prorated for actual duration), a single room in shared accommodation, and support for creative, research, or experimental activities. Transportation to and from the residence is the resident's responsibility.
