Overview
Frappant e.V., in cooperation with the Hamburgische Kulturstiftung, awards two studio scholarships to support aspiring visual artists entering professional practice. The scholarship is financed through the Susanne and Michael Liebelt Stiftungsfonds, established in 2020 to improve working conditions for freelance artists.
Eligibility
- Graduates of Hamburg University of Fine Arts (HFBK) or Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW)
- Completed studies in 2025 or 2026
- Must pursue an artistic approach within your work and want to develop it further
- Residence in Hamburg and surrounding area is sensible, as scholarship holders are expected to use the studio continuously

About Frappant e.V.
Frappant is a non-profit artists' association based in the former Viktoria Kaserne in Hamburg-Altona, active since 2009. It runs a year-round exhibition program for experimental and young contemporary art in the Frappant Gallery and operates the Kachelraum as a free space for emerging musicians and artists. This is the fourth round of the scholarship.
