About
Overview
Aqtushetii Art Residency welcomes artists, writers, musicians, researchers, ceramic artists, photographers, and interdisciplinary practitioners to develop new work in the remote mountain village of Omalo in Tusheti, Georgia. The program encourages exploration of connections between landscape, local culture, and contemporary creative practice while fostering exchange between participants and the local community.
Residency Details
- Minimum stay: 1 month during the 3-month residency period (15 July – 15 October 2026)
- Accommodation in private or shared rooms on site
- Three daily meals provided
- Access to multiple specialized studios and workshop spaces
Available Studios & Equipment
- Studios for painting and visual arts
- Ceramic studio with pottery wheel, electric, wood-fired, and raku kilns
- Fully equipped silversmithing studio
- Sound recording studio
- Photographic darkroom and library
- Woodworking and metalworking tools for sculpture, installation, or object-based practices
- Outdoor working areas in the surrounding landscape
Fee & Support
- €70 per day (includes accommodation, meals, studio access, and materials support)
- Travel costs to and from Tusheti not included
- Artists must arrange their own travel independently
- Specialized or large-scale materials should be indicated in the proposal

Expectations
