Overview
#LookUpDecatur is an ongoing public art project featuring mini paintings installed high overhead on street poles in Downtown Decatur. With no thematic requirements and very few limitations, local artists receive a blank sign and free reign to create a mini-masterpiece for display in the Decatur community.
About the Project
This series encourages the community to look up from screens, engage with the world, and find art in unexpected places. After each round of installations, decommissioned works are exhibited in the Decatur Arts Alliance gallery space, where the community is invited to revisit the artworks and purchase their favorite pieces.
