Artist Alliance members are invited to submit artwork for a public critique session at Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA). Up to eight artists will be selected (one artwork per artist) to receive in-depth feedback from three contemporary art leaders. Non-selected artists and the general public may attend the critique as free observers and participate in a moderated Q&A.

  • Notifications: On or before Friday, September 18, 2026
  • Critique session: Tuesday, October 20, 2026, 6:00–9:00 PM
  • Selected artists must be able to attend in person

Must be a current OMA member with Artist Alliance affiliate membership add-on. Non-members may join OMA at any level and add Artist Alliance online at oma-online.org/membership, by phone at (760) 435-3724, or in person at 704 Pier View Way, Oceanside CA. OMA staff and board members are not eligible for awards.

Submit 3–5 works in any media (2D, 3D, or video). All work must be able to be presented at the critique ready for display—canvases stretched, photos and drawings framed. Include artist statement, portfolio website or social media account, and CV.

No larger than 84" in any direction. Artist must be able to transport artwork to the museum on the night of the critique. OMA provides standard presentation easels for 2D work and pedestals/platforms for 3D work. Artwork cannot be wall-installed. Unframed works on paper, unstretched canvases, or non-rigid works cannot be displayed; materials must self-support on an easel or pedestal.
