Associate Artistic & Education Director, The Cabaret - Indy Arts Council

Position

Associate Artistic & Education Director at The Cabaret, a nationally renowned home for intimate cabaret. Reporting to the Artistic Director & CEO, this role shapes and executes the organization's artistic vision while providing leadership for The Cabaret Conservatory and related educational programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop annual and multi-year artistic programming and lead its execution.
• Support season planning, artist selection, repertoire development, and special artistic initiatives.
• Cultivate relationships with artists, agents, managers, producers, presenters, and industry leaders.
• Identify and develop artist residencies, mentorship opportunities, commissions, and artist development initiatives.
• Lead implementation and day-to-day execution of The Cabaret Conservatory and all educational initiatives.
• Design educational pathways connecting student experiences to professional development opportunities.
• Develop workshops, masterclasses, showcases, mentorships, intensives, and student performance opportunities.
• Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate teaching artists, education partners, interns, fellows, and apprentices.
• Oversee The Cabaret's digital artistic program and YouTube channel (2+ million annual views).
• Develop and sustain strategic partnerships with schools, universities, arts organizations, and community groups.
• Serve as an ambassador for The Cabaret's artistic and educational initiatives.
• Manage administrative aspects of artist booking, including calendars, offers, and deal memos.

They possess a deep understanding of the performing arts ecosystem, a passion for nurturing emerging artists and students, and the ability to build meaningful connections among artists, educators, donors, community partners, and audiences.

Schedule & Location

A flexible schedule is required, including some evenings and weekends for performances, educational programs, special events, and artist residencies.
