Artists from the Euro-Mediterranean region are invited to apply for a four-week residency in Matera (September-November 2026) in collaboration with a local cultural/creative organization, developing a project under the theme 'Terre Immerse – Euro-Mediterranean Creative Communities'.

The Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation, in collaboration with 10 local cultural and creative organizations, is launching a call for applications for artists from the Union for the Mediterranean (Euromed) region to undertake a residency in Matera lasting four consecutive weeks between September and November 2026. The theme is 'Terre Immerse – Euro-Mediterranean Creative Communities'.

Open to artists and creative professionals from the Euro-Mediterranean region, with particular focus on the Mediterranean region and Southern Europe.

Each project proposal specifies the timeframe for carrying out activities during the four-week residency period.

  • Coverage of logistical costs (travel, board and lodging)
  • Coverage of the running costs of the workspace
  • Funding of production costs relating to the final output and weekly events
  • Management of the communications budget (social media management and information materials)
