Overview
ELPA Design and Sustainability Residency offers a dedicated space for filmmakers and film industry professionals to rest, recharge, and develop creative projects in a supportive rural setting. The residency acknowledges the creative demands, freelance instability, and emotional toll of filmmaking, providing a slower, more reflective pace of life.
Location & Accommodation
Located near the small town of Līvāni in rural Latvia, 2.5 hours from Riga by train or bus. A repurposed farmhouse hosts up to 4 residents in private rooms with shared bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, and common space. Surrounded by outdoor space with access to river, meadows, and forests.
Duration
Residency stays range from 10 days to 4 weeks.
Eligibility
Open to filmmakers and professionals working within the film industry.
Fees & Support
Accommodation and access to all shared spaces are provided by the residency. Residents are responsible for covering their own travel and food expenses.
Expectations
Residents are invited to develop creative projects or engage in hands-on activities such as gardening and DIY initiatives. Throughout the residency, participants are encouraged to share their work with the local community through screenings and/or discussions.
