About
Overview
In continuation of Msgr. Otto Mauer's engagement with contemporary art and support of young artists, the Otto Mauer Fonds awards the 46th Msgr. Otto-Mauer-Preis für bildende Kunst annually. The prize honors a body of work that connects artistic and social discourse in an innovative way. The Fonds intends to acquire a representative work by the prizewinner for the Sammlung Otto Mauer at the Dom Museum Wien.
Eligibility
- Austrian citizenship, or ordinary residence in Austria for at least five years
- Maximum age 45 (born 1981 or later; applicants must not yet have completed their 46th year of life by 31 December 2026)
- If several artists apply jointly as a group, the age limit applies to every member of the group
