Overview

Skyline is a newly renovated, authentic Venetian spacious three-room apartment at the top of a 500-year-old building in the historic Old Jewish Ghetto of Venice. The residency includes a street-level exhibition space below the apartment with high visibility to the public. Artists have the opportunity to create, exhibit, and sell work in a vibrant cultural environment with access to galleries, museums, the Biennale, and international cultural connections.

Residency Dates & Duration

• Skyline: December 1–15, 2026 and January 5, 2027 throughout March 14, 2027
• La Storta: December 1, 2026 – January 17, 2027
• Minimum stay: 2 weeks; Maximum stay: 6 weeks

Accommodation

Skyline is a spacious, fully equipped three-room apartment on the 7th floor (no elevator) that can accommodate up to four people, including small families and artist collectives. The apartment offers breathtaking panoramic views of Venice's rooftops, canals, and historic city. Note: Not suitable for individuals with mobility challenges due to lack of elevator access.

Studio & Exhibition Space

A spacious studio-apartment combining living and workspace. On the ground floor of the same building is a dedicated exhibition space for open studio, exhibitions, and selling opportunities with no commission. The venue faces the main lively Campo with cafés and restaurants, offering high visibility.

Fees

• Venezia Contemporanea covers 50% of €2,400 per week
• Artist's share: €1,200 per week for living and exhibition space

Eligibility & Expectations

Open to artists, writers, and researchers across disciplines. Residents are encouraged to focus on their creative work, share insights informally or through an optional presentation, and provide feedback to improve future programs. Artists retain full ownership and rights to their work.
