The exhibition reinterprets visual language from medieval liturgical forms and science fiction, creating hybrid sculptural screens from materials including aquaresin, algae, silk, and steel. The title references the Rood Screen, a medieval church partition that separated the nave from the chancel, adapted here as a conceptual framework for reflecting on screens as technologies that mediate reality.
Crasis is a transdisciplinary collaborative duo composed of Andy P. Davis and Anne Lukins, collaborating since 2020. They have held residencies at Galveston Artist Residency (TX), Stove Works (Chattanooga, TN), and WheatonArts (Millville, NJ), and have exhibited and performed at venues including Blaffer Art Museum (Houston, TX), Vox Populi Gallery and Icebox Project Space (Philadelphia, PA), and others in the US and abroad.
