Aviário Studio Ceramics Glaze Developing Residency provides technical conditions, time, and space to develop ideas and try new approaches. The program is customized according to the artist's goals regarding duration, outcome, and focus. It can be a moment of transition connected to experimentation, research, and learning new techniques, or it can consolidate a project into the production of a new body of work.

  • Residency length: 2 weeks to 6 months

Open to artists 21+ based anywhere in the world, at any career stage. Spouses/partners allowed for full stay (non-collaborators). May apply individually or as a team.

Ceramics/Clay Arts, Pottery, Drawing, Installation Arts, Interdisciplinary Arts, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Visual Arts.

Private studios, shared studios, dedicated studio/shop with part-time technicians, project discussion. Electric Kiln (1260º) 220L, Electric Kiln (1050º) 160L, 3 electric pottery wheels, well-ventilated spray room, and access to workshops and equipment according to participant experience.

Artists must cover the costs of the residency fee, travel, materials, and food. Artists must be over 21 years old at the time of arrival. At the moment there are no grants available, but artists are encouraged to apply for external financial support. Pets are not allowed.
