About
Overview
Nordic Culture Point's vision is for everyone to be able to participate equally in cultural life and society. We strive to improve accessibility, both in our physical spaces and on our website.
Accessibility at Kaisaniemenkatu 9
- The train, bus, and metro are easy and environmentally friendly ways to get here via the HSL travel planner.
- You can be dropped off and picked up by car at the door on Kaisaniemenkatu.
- The front door is heavy and does not open automatically.
- The closest car park is on Fabianinkatu.
- The entrance from Fabianinkatu has a short flight of stairs.
- The entrances from Kaisaniemenkatu and Fabianinkatu also serve as emergency exits.
- There are no steps inside the library.
- The doorway to the toilets is only 70 centimetres wide.
- We can provide hearing loops to those with hearing impairment for some events. Ask a member of staff to lend you one.
- A defibrillator is located behind the library counter.
- We broadcast some of our events live on the Nordic Culture Point Facebook page. If an event is being broadcast live, we will communicate this on a sign at the entrance to the hall.
Accessibility at Suomenlinna, B28
- Wheelchair users can get to and around Nordic Culture Point's premises in Suomenlinna, though the building has some obstacles, so it is useful to have a companion.
- Please contact us for more information about accessibility in Suomenlinna.
- Familiarise yourself with the island's accessibility on the Suomenlinna website.
- HSL operates ferries from Salutorget in Helsinki to Suomenlinna.
- The shortest route from the quay to Nordic Culture Point's premises is 900 metres.
- In the summer, FRS tourist boats also operate from Salutorget to Susisaari in Suomenlinna.
- Nordic Culture Point is located on Susisaari (the letter B in the address system) at building number 33, which is a long, light-red single-storey building.
Web Accessibility
Nordic Culture Point is committed to its website https://nkk.org complying with the law on the provision of digital services and the EU accessibility directive (WCAG standard 2.1).
Accessibility in Funding Programmes
- The funding programmes are for everyone.
- People with disabilities are entitled to budget for the help of an assistant, if needed.
- The language requirements of the funding programmes that we administer are not all the same—sometimes you can write your application in any Nordic language, and sometimes only in English.
- Check what the language requirements are in the instructions for each funding programme.
