The idea behind the residency is simple: give an artist real time, a real studio, and enough support that they can actually use it. Down the Lane is a working studio space in Collingwood, Melbourne. The residency studio sits alongside a shared workshop area, with room to spread out, experiment, and make a mess if the work calls for it. There is also a chance to show the work made by the end of the residency in an open studio.
The residency is open to practising artists worldwide, at any career stage. Practices that sit across categories, such as writing or research-based work, can get in touch.
There is a 50 AUD application fee to apply.
Every listing links to the organizer's official page. Always confirm deadlines, fees, and entry rules there before you apply.
