About
Overview
Kaleidoscope invites ShenArts members to explore the endless possibilities of color. Artists may work in abstraction, landscape, portraiture, still life, photography, mixed media, sculpture, or any other visual medium. Works will be selected based on conceptual strength, relevance to the theme, and artistic quality.
Eligibility & Membership
This is a members-only exhibition. Artists must be current ShenArts members to submit work for consideration.
What to Submit
- Up to 3 submissions per artist
- Artwork title(s), medium, size (unframed), and year
- Short artist statement (max 250 words)
- Bio (max 150 words)
Submission Guidelines
All photos must be cropped and labeled in the format: ArtistLastName_ArtworkTitle_Medium (example: Van Gogh_Starry Night_oil painting). Artwork must be ready to hang with D-rings only—no sawtooth hangers or eyehooks. Photos that are not properly cropped, well lit, and labeled will be disqualified.

- Art drop-off: January 11, 2027, 4–6 pm
- Opening reception: February 5, 2027, 5–7 pm
- Pick-up: March 1, 2027, 4–6 pm
Fees & Commission
Member submission fee is $25. ShenArts handles all sales and promotion and takes a 30% commission of the retail price.
Logistics
You must be able to deliver and pick up your piece at the ShenArts Gallery; artists cannot ship pieces to the location at this time. Art drop-off and pick-up are both at the ShenArts Gallery, 128 N Loudoun St, Winchester, VA 22601.

- Exploration of color as a powerful artistic tool—from atmospheric tones to electric combinations, harmony and contrast, warmth and coolness, transparency and saturation. Artists may draw from seasonal light, familiar landscapes, cultural palettes, places, feelings, or memories.
