Board Leadership Pipeline

Overview

The Board Leadership Opportunities is a United Arts program that matches community members with open board positions across the arts and culture sector in Central Florida, based on interest, needs, and skill sets. The program aims to ensure inclusive decision-making and bridge gaps so that leadership reflects the population of Central Florida.

Open Positions

• Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens (Winter Park, FL) - seeking expertise in Accounting, Building/Construction, Chamber/City Leadership, Fundraising, Philanthropy, Community Volunteer Organizing, Social Leadership
• Art & History Museums (Maitland, FL) - seeking diverse representation including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, disability communities; skills in fundraising, development, human resources, building/construction
• ArtReach Orlando (Winter Park, FL) - seeking accounting/financial management, legal expertise, nonprofit leadership/governance, community advocacy, education backgrounds
• Bach Festival Society of Winter Park (Winter Park, FL) - seeking board members with classical music appreciation; marketing, finance, law, fund development, governance experience
• Central Florida Community Arts (Orlando, FL) - seeking diverse candidates with nonprofit board experience in finance, human resources, PR/marketing/communications, legal, real estate
• Chance 2 Dance, Inc. (Maitland, FL) - seeking accountant and fundraising professional

Board Member Commitment

• Albin Polasek: 7 regular meetings per year, plus events; 3-year term (can serve 3 consecutive terms); committee service required
• Art & History Museums: Meetings every other month on last Wednesday evenings; 1-2 committee assignments; annual gala attendance; exhibition and donor event attendance; 3-year term
• Bach Festival Society: Bi-monthly meetings September-May (typically afternoon, third or fourth Wednesday); committee service; staggered 3-year terms with no limit on renewals
• Central Florida Community Arts: 6 meetings per year (every other month, Thursday 6:30pm-8:30pm, hybrid option); committee service; attendance at performances and annual Anniversary Breakfast (late September); 3-year term with optional renewal for second 3-year term

Financial Contributions

• Albin Polasek: $1,000 requested; 100% board participation expected; in-kind contributions welcome
• Art & History Museums: $1,000 give or get policy
• Bach Festival Society: No set amount; contributions this year ranged from $100 to $45,000
• Central Florida Community Arts: Gift amount meaningful to member; no specific amount required
• ArtReach Orlando: Financial stewardship responsibility; support through give or get fundraising policy
