Get matched →Beam Camp, a specialized summer camp for building and collaboration in Strafford, NH, seeks design proposals for an ambitious public artwork. Projects will be realized collaboratively by a community of more than 100 young people (ages 9-17), Beam Camp staff, and the selected proposer during the four-week session in July 2026.
Beam Camp is an award-winning program offering youth hands-on skills in building while exploring innovative thinking, design, problem-solving, and the creative process. The Big Project serves as the centerpiece for each summer session and circulates throughout all camp activities, making each summer distinctly unique.
Projects are always ambitious and technically challenging, reflecting high levels of craftsmanship and skill. Winning proposals will be selected by a committee composed of Beam Center staff, youth, past project designers, and community members.
Proposals are welcome from all over the world and from people of any age. While AI use is recognized, designers are asked to use it sparingly; personal human input and storytelling from the designer(s) is preferred.
Visit the Beam Center website to submit your proposal using the online application form.
