Get matched →La Storta is a long-running creative residency located in an ancient Renaissance bottega in the heart of Venice's historic Jewish Ghetto. The space combines a cozy live-in studio with a street-level gallery featuring a large vitrine window opening onto a lively campo, offering both quiet retreat and public visibility. The gallery welcomes exhibitions, open-studio events, and process-based displays with light curatorial support available. Artists are granted full flexibility to shape their presentations and working hours.
Nestled in a 500-year-old Renaissance bottega in Venice's historic Jewish Ghetto, La Storta offers an authentic Venetian atmosphere with cafés and shops nearby. The studio includes basic art supplies, two projectors, and installation tools. Two art supply shops are located nearby. Light curatorial support is available for exhibitions, and assistance is provided with contacts to services, printshops, and exhibition attendance.
Open to visual artists of all disciplines, writers, and researchers. The residency provides an inclusive and supportive environment.
Applications are open year-round on a rolling basis. Applicants should submit: a few lines about themselves, a very brief description of their residency plan, links to their work online (no PDF), and preferred dates.
