The Office for Artist Consulting provides advice to visual artists from Germany and abroad who want to start their career in Berlin. It offers support with questions about working as a professional artist and helps artists orient themselves in Berlin's art city.
Services Offered
- Orientation consultation: Information about work and production conditions for visual artists in Berlin, and work-related institutions and funding agencies.
- Social consultation: Guidance on legal, tax, and insurance issues (residence permit, tax office registration, social insurance for artists), and services of the Jobcenter and Federal Employment Office.
Eligibility
Services are directed at all visual artists who are new in Berlin and want to live and work there and/or are considering self-employment as an artist.
Fees
Consultations are free of charge.
Languages
Consultations are available in German and English.
How to Apply
Appointments for consultation are possible only by prior arrangement. Please contact the office by mail with the topics of consultation and attach an artist CV or a link to your website. Members of bbk berlin should contact the bbk berlin office for consultations.
